Heraklion to Zurich flight path: HER to ZRH

Sit on the Left side of the plane for the best views on flights from Heraklion to Zurich. When landing at Zurich (ZRH), sit on the Right side for the best views. Zurich's main landing runway 14 brings aircraft in from the north-northwest, meaning the right side faces east toward the Alps. On approach you get a clear panorama of the Swiss Alps including the Glarus Alps and, on clear days, the Bernese Oberland peaks on the horizon. The left side faces west over the Swiss Mittelland plateau, which is comparatively flat and less dramatic. Notable sights include: Lake Zurich stretching southeast below; the Glarus Alps ridgeline to the east; the Zurich city center and Limmat river visible on final; the Uetliberg ridge to the southwest.
