Sit on the Right side of the plane for the best views on flights from Los Angeles to Dallas. The right side wins overall because the takeoff view over the Palos Verdes Peninsula and Catalina Island is genuinely spectacular and hard to beat. During cruise the right side also faces south, giving views over the Mojave Desert, then the mountains and high desert of New Mexico and West Texas as the route tracks east-northeast. The landing view on the left is excellent but brief.

On final approach from the west, the left side faces south and gives a clear view over downtown Dallas — the skyline is directly visible as you descend, with the cluster of towers prominent against the flat North Texas plain. The right side faces north toward less distinctive suburban sprawl. Notable sights include: Downtown Dallas skyline (Bank of America Plaza, Reunion Tower), White Rock Lake to the east of downtown, the Trinity River corridor and its levees, the dense grid of Dallas urban streets.
