Sit on the Left side of the plane for the best views on flights from Port-of-spain to Amsterdam. Left side wins at both ends of the flight. On a southbound approach from the north, the left side faces east toward Amsterdam city center, the IJ waterway, and the distinctive polder landscape. The right side looks west over flat farmland with little of interest. On an eastbound approach on runway 06, the left side still captures the Amsterdam metropolitan area as you cross over it. Notable sights include: Amsterdam city center canal ring, IJ waterway and Amsterdam harbor, Dutch polder landscape with geometric fields and waterways, Haarlem to the west.

After departing Trinidad the route tracks northwest over the southern Caribbean Sea, passing north of the Lesser Antilles chain (visible as small islands on the right/north side in early cruise).
