Sit on the Left side of the plane for the best views on flights from Seoul to London. Left side wins both the departure over Seoul and the Han River and the arrival over the Surrey and Sussex countryside toward the South Downs. During the cruise the flight tracks north over Siberia and then across Scandinavia and the North Sea, where the left side also picks up better views of the Norwegian fjord coastline if flying in daylight hours.

When landing at Gatwick (LGW), sit on the Left side for the best views. Gatwick's primary landing runway 26L brings aircraft in from the east-northeast, so the left side faces south over the Surrey and Sussex countryside. On the left you get the South Downs ridge and the English Channel coast near Brighton as a distant horizon feature during approach. The right side faces north toward the less scenic M23 corridor and Crawley. Notable sights include: South Downs ridge running east-west across the horizon, Brighton and the English Channel coast in the far distance to the south, the Weald farmland patchwork below, Crawley urban area to the north on the right side.

The route tracks northwest from Seoul across Manchuria and into Siberia over Lake Baikal, then across the West Siberian Plain, over the Ural Mountains into European Russia, across the Baltic states, over southern Scandinavia or the North Sea depending on exact routing, and into the UK from the east.
