Sit on the Left side of the plane for the best views on flights from Kathmandu to Doha. The left side delivers the defining visual of this route — the Himalayan wall on departure from Kathmandu, which is genuinely one of the most spectacular views in commercial aviation. The landing view from the right in Doha is attractive but the Gulf approach is relatively flat and featureless by comparison. Left wins on the strength of the Himalayan departure alone.

During takeoff from Tribhuvan International (KTM), sit on the Left side for the best views. Tribhuvan's primary departure runway is 02 (heading roughly northeast), so a left-side seat faces northwest toward the main Himalayan wall. The Bagmati River valley and Kathmandu's urban bowl are also visible below on the left before the aircraft turns westward. When landing at Doha International (DOH), sit on the Right side for the best views. Doha's main arrival runway 34L/34R brings aircraft in from the south heading north, so right-side seats face east toward the Qatar coastline, the shallow turquoise waters of the Persian Gulf, and the distinctive finger-shaped peninsulas and lagoons around Doha's waterfront. The city skyline of West Bay appears on the right as you descend over the Gulf. Notable sights include: West Bay skyscraper cluster (Doha CBD), Persian Gulf turquoise shallows, Qatar's eastern coastline and lagoons, Doha Corniche waterfront arc.

The flight from Tribhuvan International (KTM) to Doha International (DOH) takes Approximately 4 hours 30 minutes to 5 hours.

After leaving Nepal the route crosses the Gangetic Plain of northern India (flat, hazy, heavily farmed), then the Thar Desert of Rajasthan and the Pakistan-India border region near Sindh, followed by the Sindh coast and the Arabian Sea. The route then crosses the Gulf of Oman and enters the Persian Gulf. The Makran Coast of Pakistan and Iran may be faintly visible on the left side at cruise altitude. Most of the mid-flight scenery is arid lowland and open water with limited visual interest.
